The US launches a diplomatic campaign to dismantle the International Criminal Court | DW News

The United States says it wants to "dismantle" the International Criminal Court, a tribunal that investigates genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity. Washington has long resisted joining the ICC and has even sanctioned some of its judges, but the latest push marks a dramatic escalation. Secretary of State Marco Rubio claims the court threatens US military and law enforcement operations, and undermines its sovereignty. However that's contrary to the reality of how it operates, according to Harvard Law School Professor Alex Whiting, who spoke to DW's Ben Fajzullin.
