COVID-19 & Rare Kidney Disease Update
Drs. Shaikh and Campbell — who served on the pandemic frontlines in NYC — will provide a retrospective look at where we’ve been to where we are now in understanding the SARS-CoV-2 virus and COVID-19 disease. Dr. Campbell discusses how COVID-19 affects kidney disease patients and how the evolution of vaccines and treatments have changed the landscape on mortality and morbidity. Dr. Shaikh reviews the history of COVID-19 in the dialysis community, how this vulnerable population was affected by exposure, and their response to the vaccines. This video was previously recorded at the 2022 NephCure Patient Summit.
