Humans in the Loop | Naomi Couriel | TEDxUdeSA

Through the concept of "reinforcement learning from human feedback," this talk explains that AI doesn't learn what's right — it learns what most people approve of. This creates a loop in which we shape the model, and the model, in turn, shapes the way we think and make decisions. Naomi is a student of Artificial Intelligence Engineering at Universidad de San Andrés, and works professionally in the field. Her relationship with technology began at age 15, when she chose a technical high school track in ICT and became one of the few girls in the field. She was part of a team that won the QuantumJam 2025 hackathon on quantum computing, and currently collaborates in research on LLMs applied to humanitarian data. She also creates educational content about AI on social media. Her talk explores how artificial intelligence is already shaping the way we think, write, and make decisions- and why understanding what happens behind the tools we use every day is no longer optional. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
