MEME BUKANLAH TINDAK KEJAHATAN!

Content creator Ferry Irwandi attended the trial of defendant Khariq Anhar in a case of alleged violation of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE). Ferry was present to testify as a social media observer and to express his moral support for young people's creativity. Following the trial at the Central Jakarta District Court on Monday, July 6, 2026, Ferry assessed that the case against Khariq constituted a form of forced criminalization and had the potential to threaten people's freedom of expression. According to him, the content Khariq created was a form of satire and humor commonly found on social media. "This isn't just for Khariq. This is for the millions of Indonesians who have creativity, freedom of expression, and a voice wrapped in satire, comedy, and humor. They shouldn't face consequences that extend to imprisonment," Ferry said in front of the courtroom. (TEMPO)
