50cc Motocross Dads (Episode 4) Cleaning the Carburetor and Fuel Tank.
A dirty Jet in your carburetor can seriously impede the performance of these little engines. The effect may be felt in the low, mid or high rev range, and is not always the obvious culprit. You as a 50cc dad will sometimes become frustrated trying to locate an issue on the bike, changing spark plugs, fiddling with air/fuel mix, clutch settings etc. Keeping the carb clean and moisture-free on the inside is so important. In this video I flushed the tank for the first time and was amazed at the amount of dirt and bits of plastic that were found in the fuel. So a fuel tank flush will be a more frequent part of my maintenance schedule from now on. I will be investigating an in-line filter or fuel cap filter sock for the SX.X
