Ruby Mirror & Sapphire Blue: Two Incredible Custom Lens Builds

Luxury eyewear deserves equally thoughtful lens design. In this video, Daniel Brunson showcases two custom Masunaga builds that demonstrate how lens color, photochromic technology, gradients, and mirror coatings can completely transform a frame. First, we feature the Masunaga Masters of Craft MOC 005 in Burgundy. For this build, we paired Zeiss ClearMind Single Vision lenses with a custom Zeiss Cinnamon Gradient tint fading from approximately 25% density to clear. We then added a Zeiss Flash Ruby Mirror and PhotoFusion Pro Brown technology. Outdoors, the lenses transform into a rich brown sunglass while the Ruby Mirror becomes dramatically more visible. PhotoFusion Pro Brown also activates and fades back faster than traditional photochromic brown lenses, creating a more responsive everyday experience. Next, we showcase the iconic Masunaga 000 in Grey Clear. This frame features iOT Endless Single Vision lenses, known for delivering exceptionally sharp optics across the lens surface. To complement the frame color, we added a custom Sky Blue gradient tint fading from approximately 25% density to clear, then paired it with Transitions Gen S Sapphire. Outdoors, the lenses develop into a beautiful neutral sapphire-blue sunglass while maintaining excellent visual comfort and clarity. These two designs highlight how custom lenses can elevate a luxury frame beyond what is available off the shelf.
