"Three steps from death" is an almost suggestive name given to a narrow and exposed section of the Arpașel ridge, in the Făgăraș Mountains. Where does this name come from? 1. Exposure: The area is extremely exposed with steep cliffs and considerable drops. 2. Narrowing: The width of the passage is very narrow, giving little room to manoeuvre. 3. Altitude: Located at a significant altitude where weather conditions can be extreme and unpredictable.
