Setting up a BMW /2 Magneto Ignition system.
This video shows how Ande at Barrington Motor Works sets up the magneto ignition system for a /3 or /2 motor. The ignition system operates when two magnets generate a current by means of rotating on the end of the cam shaft. The magneto system is timed to energize the coil and produce a spark at a particular time. Setting up your magneto ignition components correctly will ensure the motor fires at the correctly timed moment. Each component has a function and if set properly the ignition will produce a properly timed, strong spark. If you have any questions or items to add, please feel free to comment below!
