Arthur & Guinevere AU Chances-Part 11

I just love being able to create new scenes. Anyways, I hope you all will enjoy. Thanks for the comments, everybody. I really appreciate them. I would love more feedback. Plot: Arthur returns to camp and tells his men about his plans to call off the battle with the combat. His knights think it is outrageous, but are willing to fight for him. He refuses, He doesn't want to put any more lives at risk, so he offers up his own. In the morning, Arthur prepares for the fight. He says goodbye to Gwen and asks her to look after Morgana. The combat between Queen Annis's champion and Arthur is about to begin. Merlin watches on with worry. The fight begins. Arthur is injured begins losing. He is too tired and the man is a giant. Queen Annis is watching from afar, and starts to doubt her motives. Just as her champion is about to land Arthur the final blow, she steps out and stops it. Queen Annis has granted Arthur his life and apologizes to him. He thanks her for her courtesy and hopes their kingdoms will now be at peace. On their way back to the camp, Arthur's wounds get infected. Merlin confesses to Gwen that there isn't much more he can do now. They just have to wait and keep tending to his fever. Gwen is terribly worried. Lancelot sits with her outside for comfort. Mean, Merlin goes to see Morgana, who has now woken up. They confess how deeply they care about each other and share a second kiss. In the morning, Gwen awakes to find Lancelot still at her side. He tells her he knew she'd still be there. He then tells her that he thinks Arthur is a better man than him. Gwen is confused and does not understand why he is saying this. Lancelot confronts Gwen and asks if Arthur has feelings for her. She lies and says no. That he is just her King. Lancelot, still unsure, professes that she means the world to him. Gwen feels guilty for having the love of two wonderful men, and not being able to be there for both of them. In the night, Arthur finally awakes. Gwen is shocked and relieved. She tells him he needs to sleep, and then tells him she thought she had lost him forever. Arthur is overwhelmed with her love and embraces her. Lancelot watches through the window. Ok, thats it for Part 11! I hope you all enjoy this one. I thought the scenes were sweet with the two couples. ^_^
