New immigration plan will lead to population decline over next 2 years | Power & Politics

Canada's new immigration plan is projected to lead to a 0.2 per cent decrease in population in 2025 and 2026 - about 80,000 people. Immigration Minister Marc Miller tells Power & Politics the plan will stabilize population growth and relieve pressure on the housing market. But Newfoundland Immigration Minister Sarah Stoodley says her province can't afford cuts to immigration when it's vital to the economy.
