Railfanning Caltrain in Gilroy on Veterans Day (11/11/2025)

20251111 Like last year, I was able to take the opportunity to go railfan Caltrain for the first time in quite a while and went to see the South County Connector in downtown Gilroy on a cool, beautiful morning. 1) South County Connector 807 departs the Gilroy Station, crossing over E 7th St, led by cab car 112. 2) South County Connector 809 at E 6th St, led by cab car 119, and with a friendly crew. Also I want to note, PLEASE DON’T SET UP THIS CLOSE as I knew the train would go only 10 mph and I had enough space between the tracks and a driveway behind me to avoid being in the train’s path, but as the train went by, my tripod was only about 3-4 feet from the edge of it. 3) South County Connector 811 at I.O.O.F. Ave, also with a friendly crew, led by cab car 120.
