Así se elaboran las esferas en Chignahuapan Puebla | Fabrica de Esferas Esnaviso
There are more than 250 family workshops and/or factories dedicated to this craft, which together produce more than 100 million ornaments annually (distributed throughout the country). They are made entirely by hand by artisans who imbue each one with their dedication and care. By purchasing one of these pieces, you contribute to improving their family's economy. The process begins with shaping, when the artisan heats the glass rod to give it its form (round, teardrop, bell, pear, apple, crescent). Next, it goes to the metallizing area, which gives it a shiny finish. From there, it goes to the painting area to add color; then it's decorated, if it has a figure or glitter; then it's attached to the bead cap. If it has any extra elements (hat, lights, etc.), it goes to the finishing touches, before finally being packaged. HERE'S THE STEP-BY-STEP PROCESS It all begins with glassblowing. At a temperature of over 200 degrees Celsius, the artisan heats a glass rod and blows air into the glass to shape the sphere. In the second step, the piece gets a glossy finish. To achieve this, the artisans send the molds to a special chamber, which transforms them in minutes. Next, the sphere goes to the coloring area, where it's dipped in paint and comes out red, green, blue, orange, or any color you can imagine. It's left to dry for 5 to 15 minutes on a bed of sawdust, and that's it. The decorating is one of the most beautiful parts, where the figures come to life. Depending on the figure, they then go to the mounting area, where the hook is added one by one—that essential piece for hanging it. And because the variety of spheres is so wide, some designs are even made for crafts. Here, skilled artisans add other elements like bows, hats, lights, and other embellishments, giving it a unique touch. Packaging is the final step, and the ornament is ready to arrive at your home. 100% Original Content. This content may not be reused or taken without prior authorization.
