Are holidays compatible with a multifaceted life? This week I cycled in the sweltering heat, managed a rental crisis remotely, received a 1 out of 10 because it was hot—and stumbled upon a place that looks a lot like the one I want to create. On the agenda: the not-so-rosy behind-the-scenes reality of a concierge service on vacation, a lesson I won't forget about delegation, a conversation about coworking spaces and what that term really means, and friends who reminded me that perseverance always pays off.
