Will you join us on a tour of the city of Cazorla to visit some of its most representative monumental attractions? This fascinating Magical Town of Spain is located on the banks of the Cerezuelo River, right where the valley begins to slope towards the cliffs of Peña de los Halcones and Loma del Castillo. From the picturesque Casa de las Bicicletas we will go down through the Parque del Santo Cristo to make a brief stop at the Casa de las Cadenas. Next, our steps lead us to the Plaza de la Corredera where we will visit its Church of San José, two interesting fountains and contemplate the varied architecture represented by buildings that give clues to the different historical periods that the city has gone through. The Cazorla Town Hall and the Teatro de la Merced are part of them, a group that has inherited the premises of the old Convent of the Mercedarias from the 16th century. The route then takes us to the Balcón de Zabaleta, a viewing point that looks out over the depression formed by the Cerezuelo River and from which we can see one of the most recognisable images of the town of Cazorla. Later we arrive at the Plaza de Santa María to delight in the Fuente de las Cadenas and visit the ruins of the Church of Santa María de Gracia. The architect of this temple, Andrés de Vandelvira, had to create a vault over the river in order to create the complex.
