Survivre à la pauvreté : témoignages de familles courageuses

For twenty years, the situation of the poor in France has been deteriorating. Today, there are 8 million people living in poverty, including 2 million children. 13% of French households live below the poverty line, meaning they have less than 950 euros per month. Now, families go to food banks together. Poverty is taking hold in cities as well as in the countryside. This precariousness frightens us because the poor are increasingly like us. Who can consider themselves safe? Separation, job loss, a life-altering event—and life can be turned upside down. Director Géraud Burin des Roziers, a veteran of conflict zones, put his camera at the service of the destitute, giving them a voice. But before that, how many people refused to speak in this film for fear of social pressure? After a year of investigation, four families agreed to share their stories, placing love at the heart of their lives. Through simple, unvarnished stories, we discover the new faces of poverty. Among the hardest hit are single mothers. Courageous women, clothed in dignity, they have decided to fight at all costs. For their children, they are ready to make any sacrifice. Escaping poverty has become their life's battle. Director: GERAUD BURIN DES ROZIERS Discover these poignant stories of families struggling to survive despite the hardships.
