We meet the islanders whose front yard is the vast expanse of the sea. Uido Island, reached only after a three-and-a-half-hour boat ride from Mokpo. From sea fennel (preciouser than the mainland's sea kale), agar-agar, barnacles, snails, and croaker, the people of Uido never have a moment to go hungry thanks to the fresh ingredients available just by stepping out into their front yards. Poet Kang Jae-yoon and two young men from the mainland, Park Myung-ho and Hong Dong-woo, visit this island, where travelers never cease thanks to the generous hospitality that resembles the sea. They are served a table laden with the islanders' warm hospitality and herbal makgeolli brewed by the guesthouse owners themselves, and savor a "Uido-style feast" that includes croaker sashimi, where nothing goes to waste. The three men, regretting that their 2-night, 3-day trip is too short, wish to settle down permanently!
