Shopify Metaobjects Tutorial - What they are & ways to use them

Metaobjects were released in 2023, and allow us to define new types of content on your store. No longer is it just products, collections, blogs... We can now add things like services, ambassadors, retailers and more. The latest update gives us Metaobject templates - turning Shopify into more of a CMS / Website builder, with custom pages for different types of content. Metafields vs Metaobjects - what's the difference? This is a common question, the main difference is that Metafields are used for additional information on an existing object like a product. Metaobjects are entirely new types of content, and they contain Metafields within them. There are many different ways to output Metaobjects, but I think there are 2 main uses: 1. Create individual metaobject pages. 2. Reference them in Metafields, to include them on a product or other type of page. 3. Output them in a list. You may want to create a separate page for listing your ambassadors or services. You can now do this with repeating blocks. 👉 RELATED VIDEOS 1.
