Civil Party lawyer Alessia Merluzzi provides a comprehensive and well-documented reconstruction of the relationship between Carabinieri Captain Piergiorgio Segatel and Mirella Robbio, the ex-wife of Mauro Meli, a leader of Ordine Nuovo in Genoa. The captain had received from an unknown source, which he never revealed, a hint of "something big" imminent in the weeks preceding the Bologna train station massacre of August 2, 1980. After receiving that warning, Segatel turned to Robbio simply because she was his only confidential source in the far-right world in Genoa, as Meli's ex-wife. He asked her if she knew anything and, if so, if he could try to find out from old acquaintances connected to her ex-husband. Robbio replied that she no longer had any contact with Meli and that she knew nothing. After the massacre, between August 2 and 3, their second meeting took place. It was Segatel, not Robbio, who uttered the phrase that later became part of the case file: "Did you see what we could have avoided?" A phrase that documents the captain's attempt to use his contact with Robbio to verify an alarm emanating from another person, never identified or revealed. This reconstruction fits within the broader framework defined by the Supreme Court ruling of July 1, 2025, which definitively convicted Piergiorgio Segatel of obstruction of justice, finally clarifying his legal position and his behavior at the time of the events.
