When Water Becomes Uncertain | A Story of Climate Resilience in Eastern Uttar Pradesh | PANI & HUF

Climate change is often spoken about as rising temperatures. But on the ground, it is felt through water - parched soil, depleted wells, delayed rains, and sudden floods. This film tells the story of how communities in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, especially women farmers, are responding to that reality with knowledge, collective action, and local leadership. Through the partnership of Hindustan Unilever Foundation and People’s Action for National Integration (PANI), farmers across Gonda and Shrawasti are adopting water-smart agricultural practices, improving soil health, using micro-irrigation, and building stronger village systems for long-term resilience. At the heart of this effort are CRP Didis, Mahila Kisan Sangathans, water budgeting tools, and local service centres that help farmers access knowledge, inputs, and confidence closer to home. This is not only a story about climate change.
