Rosherville Gardens Chalk Cliff Staircase Entrance in Gravesend

Today we're visiting one of the last remaining parts of Rosherville Gardens, a large Victorian era pleasure garden constructed in a disused chalk pit in Gravesend, Kent. Rosherville Gardens was a very popular tourist destination at the time with people visiting from all around the UK. Within the gardens were numerous attractions including a Hermit cave, Bear pit, Maze, Botanical garden and Archery range. The section we are visiting today is what remains of the entrance staircase that was carved into the chalk cliff, leading down from the main road into the gardens itself. Hope you enjoy the video and until next time, happy exploring.
