This trek consists of over 3,000 steep jungle stairs, intense humidity, and some of the most mind-blowing scenery in Northeast India. But instead of taking it easy, we are on the clock. (It really helps the channel grow). The Double Decker Living Root Bridge in Cherrapunji (Sohra), Meghalaya, is one of the most unique treks in the world. Woven from the roots of rubber fig trees by the Khasi people, these bridges take decades to grow. The Nongriat trek requires descending and ascending thousands of concrete steps deep into the jungle. Most guides recommend 5 to 6 hours for a round trip, making our 2.5-hour speed run a massive physical test!
