1979 Sugar Bowl

This is the 1/1/1979 Penn State vs Alabama game. It matched 1 vs 2 in the AP poll. Penn State was reknowned for their linebackers but this season with Matt Millen and Bruce Clark at Defensive tackle, they might have had their best defensive team ever. Alabama was not short on the defensive side either. Led by All American Barry Kraus. For a football purist, this was one the best games ever played. It was won by #2 Alabama on a late Goalline stand.
