🎸 KIKA – Episode 1 🎸 Aloha and welcome to the very first episode of KIKA, a new series from Groove Plant Hawaiʻi celebrating guitars, music, gear, and the stories behind them. For Episode 1, we’re featuring my 2016 PRS S2 Vela, one of the most unique and inspiring guitars in my collection. This isn’t a review or a deep dive into specs—it’s simply a play-through. Just the guitar, the music, and the vibe. What’s even more interesting is how this performance was captured. The track was originally recorded during the pandemic using nothing more than a Yamaha THR10X practice amp, an iPad for playback, and an iPhone for video and audio capture. No elaborate studio setup. No expensive signal chain. Just making music and letting the guitar speak for itself. The PRS S2 Vela continues to be one of those instruments that inspires creativity every time I pick it up. Its character, feel, and personality make it a guitar that’s hard to put down and a perfect choice for the inaugural episode of KIKA.
