In the 1960s, Mercedes-Benz launched the OM352 and OM314 engines in Europe. In Brazil, they arrived in the early 1970s and were used to equip very successful models such as its trucks and buses, as well as vehicles from many other companies, including utility vehicles, tractors and both yellow and agricultural machinery! The trucks that used these engines were the very successful L1113, the "Mercedão", and the 608D, the "Mercedinho", which at the time of their production, were absolute sales leaders in their segments! The OM352 (6 cylinders) and OM314 (4 cylinders) engines are known for being very simple, robust and reliable, which made them very popular and equipped almost all types of vehicles manufactured in Brazil! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The history of Mercedes-Benz trucks:    • A história dos CAMINHÕES MERCEDES-BENZ   The history of Mercedes-Benz in Brazil:    • Como a MERCEDES BENZ liderou no BRASIL com...   The history of Mercedes-Benz AGL trucks:    • Como o MERCEDES AGL conquistou o BRASIL   The history of Toyota Bandeirante & Land Cruiser:    • A HISTÓRIA DO TOYOTA BANDEIRANTE & LAND CR...   The history of CBT:    • A história dos TRATORES CBT - o PRIMEIRO t...   The history Perkins & Maxion engines:    • Como surgiram os MOTORES PERKINS e MAXION   The history of ethanol in Brazil:    • A HISTÓRIA DO ETANOL NO BRASIL!
