Join me for a walk through the heart of historic St Albans, one of the most fascinating cities in the UK! Located just a short distance outside London, St Albans is a town overflowing with history, as the site of one of the world's oldest schools, what's said to be the England's oldest pub, the last remaining medieval belltower in England, the site of the longest continuous Christian worship in the country, and the ruins of the Roman town of Verulamium, once the third-largest town in Roman Britain. On our walk around St Albans, we encounter landmarks aplenty, including The Old Town Hall, French Row, The Christopher Inn, The Fleur de Lys, the St Albans Clock Tower, the site of the old Eleanor Cross, The Village Arcade, The Verdun Tree, The Vintry Garden, St Albans Abbey (St Albans Cathedral), The Great Gateway of St Albans Abbey, Romeland Garden, St Albans School, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, The River Ver, Verulamium Park, St. Germain's Block (remains of Roman walls), an excavated Roman mosaic, and the unearthed ruins of the Roman Theatre of Verulamium.
