Climbing Scafell Pike AND Scafell in One Day |
This is another legacy adventure vlog from the archive, filmed on 1st May 2017 in the Lake District. In this hike we set out to climb Scafell Pike – the highest mountain in England – and then continue across to Scafell, making it a double summit day in the Lake District. The weather turned out beautiful, but the terrain between the peaks was loose, rocky and brutal on the knees on the descent. By the end of the day everyone was absolutely shattered, but it turned into one of those classic Lake District hiking days you never forget. Total stats for the day: • Around 6–7 miles walked • Roughly 10,000+ steps • Two major Lake District summits • Several hours on the mountain These archive adventure videos are being rescued from my old channels and uploaded here so they don’t disappear forever. If you enjoy Lake District hiking, outdoor adventures, and real unfiltered vlog footage, you’ll probably like these legacy uploads. 🏔️ About the Route The plan for the day was simple: Start early, climb Scafell Pike, then descend and cross over to Scafell before heading back down. The climb itself is fairly standard for the Pike, but the traverse and descent can be rough, steep and unforgiving, especially on tired legs. The views though… absolutely worth it. 📍 Filmed in Lake District National Park, Cumbria, UK Mountains featured: • Scafell Pike • Scafell ⏱️ Video Chapters / Timestamps 0:00 Intro – Legacy adventure vlog (May 2017) 0:41 Hiking montage begins 1:59 Starting the hike – route plan explained 2:17 Early trail chat and food supplies 2:45 First climbing sections 3:25 Steeper terrain begins 4:35 Reaching Scafell Pike summit 4:46 Heading towards Scafell (second peak) 5:02 Crossing the ridge between the mountains 5:52 Loose rock and tricky terrain 6:49 Mid-route progress update 7:58 Windy conditions on the ridge 8:01 Reaching Scafell summit 8:22 Stats update – distance and time 9:02 Heading back toward the valley 9:26 The brutal descent begins 9:44 Everyone’s knees are feeling it 😅 10:10 Final distance and end-of-day thoughts Thanks for watching!
