Life in the border village of Belleek 1988
Life in Belleek was shown as residents on both sides of the Fermanagh–Donegal border tried to maintain normality despite ongoing tension and violence. Daily routines continued under the presence of British Army checkpoints, with locals navigating the challenges of living and working across the border. The community, both Protestant and Catholic, expressed a strong desire to remain united even after recent sectarian killings shook the area. While trust and cooperation remained, fears grew about the impact of further violence on the fragile peace. (Broadcast on 4 October 1988.) #archive #Belleek
