At Javeriana University, we honor the memory of Fr. Gerardo Remolina, S.J., a man who dedicated his life to education, philosophy, and service to others. From his childhood in Piedecuesta, Santander, his vocation for knowledge and the cultivation of the spirit led him to the Society of Jesus and to making teaching his mission. He believed that education should be a dialogue, an encounter with others, and he practiced this throughout his life. As rector of Javeriana, he left an indelible mark on our entire community, guiding us with his example of integrity and commitment. His legacy lives on in every classroom, in every idea, and in every Javeriana heart that believes in education as the path to building a more just and inclusive society.
