2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid Limited AWD, a 3-row SUV that's relatively easy on gas
A three-row SUV for families that need a lot of space but balk at the high fuel bills that come with it. The Highlander SUV uses 35% less gas than the V6 version, thanks to its gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain. But it has less horsepower and towing capacity. In addition to its relative thriftiness we like the Highlander's price and its soft ride, although its handling is not sporty and the third row seats are a tight fit. Consider cross-shopping it against numerous 3-row SUVs including the Ford Explorer, Chevrolet Traverse, Honda Pilot, Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder, Dodge Durango and Jeep Grand Cherokee L.
