Two war orphans, Shin and Pyo, train daily in swordsmanship, dreaming of one day becoming great generals. One day, Pyo is summoned to the royal palace by Lord Changwen, a minister in the royal capital. Shin and Pyo will walk separate paths... A coup d'état led by the king's younger brother, Seikatsu, breaks out at the palace. During the battle, Pyo, despite being mortally wounded, makes it to the barn where Shin is.
