Oral History with Elizabeth Keating an Athabascan Elder from Holikachuck
Elizabeth Keating is Athabascan. She was born in 1933 and she is from Holikachuk, Alaska. She shared stories about growing up during WWII. She was raised by her grandparents and she lived the subsistence lifestyle until she moved with her dad to Seattle as a pre-teenager. She shared stories about her siblings who attended the mission schools and her sister who died from medical neglect. She also shared funny stories that her grandma told her about the Klondike Gold Rush.
