Sunday School | How to Know God's Will LESSON 5: EXPERIENCING INNER ASSURANCE  Peace always prevails in all circumstances if it is in harmony with God's will. If you feel only a little peace at the time of decision, the general principle is "DO NOT". I. THE PEACE OF GOD  "7 The peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:7)  When God's will is known: 1. The peace of God will rule over us (illustration) for example, in the 1990s, Christians were forbidden by the authorities in Saigon from holding private meetings, and were even taken to the police station. They were questioned, but all testified that they felt no fear, but rather the peace of God filled their hearts. 2. There was not a hint of anxiety, even though we might see the urgency. 3. We did not resist even when our decisions were questioned. We prepared for God's defense (absolute faith in God's sovereignty). II. HAVING A CLEAN CONSCIENCE 1. ​​Our conscience is founded on the Word of God.  « 18 Timothy, my son, I command you this according to what the prophet has said about you, so that you may fight valiantly, 19 with a firm faith and a clean conscience. Some have abandoned a clean conscience, and their faith has been lost. » (1 Timothy 1:18-19)  « 9 Hold fast to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience. » (1 Timothy 3:9) 2. We must have conviction before God.  « 21 Beloved brothers and sisters, if our hearts do not condemn us, we are confident before God. » (1 John 3:21)
