KajaGooGoo - C4 (The Other Side of The Tracks) 08.01.1983

Broadcast date: 08 January 1983, UK. Channel 4 - The Other Side of The Tracks. Series 1, Episode 1. Hosted by Paul Gambaccini. The Other Side of The Tracks was a decent program from British Channel 4 on a Saturday evening, looking at the workings of the music business by concentrating on a couple of artists each show. Because it was an hour long show on a commercial channel, the placing of the ad breaks meant that one artist got two thirds of the episode and the other just one. The program was devised and presented by one of Radio One's more cerebral DJs, the American ex-pat Paul Gambaccini and reflected his interests. It ran in 3 series from 08.01.1983 till 30.03.1985. Most, though not all, of the artists featured were at least of some interest to America and at least some of the episodes were broadcast there as well. Most of the artists were also reasonably well established - with one glaring exception. The first episode featured Phil Collins - and Kajagoogoo. There is no secret - broadcast of this first episode in first series of "The Other Side of The Tracks" was a great gift for Kajagoogoo and helped raise to fame and popularity. There is another episode - no 6, last in a series, kind of follow-up - KajaGooGoo is presented there with a silver discs by Gambaccini for huge success of "Too Shy" and introduced with new single - Ooh to Be Ah. 00:00 KajaGooGoo live at Brixton Ace, London, 17.12.1982; 01:24 Intro by Paul Gambaccini; 02:22 Band's cooperation with EMI Records; 03:53 KajaGooGoo live at Brixton Ace, London, 17.12.1982; 05:06 Creating new songs; 05:53 Band's cooperation with EMI Records; 07:44 Director Simon Milne discussing with band Too Shy promo video; *** If you have any recordings of Limahl or KajaGooGoo from years 1982 - 2006 and it is not on my channel please contact me リマール 리말 カジャグーグー *** This clip is strictly only for archive purposes, not copying or rebroadcasting in any form.
