Don't Stop Believin - THE RENDER LINE | Journey

The phrase that saved the track... and a brilliant geographical error? 🗺️🎸 Did you know that the title of this massive hit was born out of a moment of absolute despair? Keyboardist Jonathan Cain was ready to give up on his music career and called his father for advice; his dad answered with words that stuck with him forever: "Don't stop believing." Years later, the band used that exact line to anchor this 1981 anthem. As a funny twist, the lyrics mention a boy born and raised in "South Detroit"... a place that doesn't actually exist! Singer Steve Perry later admitted he used it simply because it fit the vocal rhythm perfectly, completely unaware that south of Detroit is actually Canada. In my version for THE RENDER LINE, I wanted to take all that uplifting energy and amplify it to the max. I've swapped the classic opening keyboard line for a powerful, tight electric guitar riff, backing it with a heavy rhythm section so that the message of "don't stop believing" hits harder, with more distortion and modern grit than ever before. Hit play and keep that rock spirit alive! 🤘🔥 #journey #dontstopbelievin #therenderline #rockversion #80srock #hardrockcover #classicrock #rockanthems #guitarrock #rockcovers #melodicrock #almavirecordlabel #almavi
