Riduzione del tempo di somministrazione: il vantaggio della formulazione sottocutanea

The introduction of the subcutaneous formulation represents a significant innovation in the treatment of multiple sclerosis. We discussed this with Dr. Girolama Alessandra Marfia, professor at the Department of Systems Medicine at the University of Rome Tor Vergata and Director of the Multiple Sclerosis Unit at the Policlinico Tor Vergata, whom we met at the 54th Congress of the Italian Society of Neurology. She discussed the results of the phase 3 OCARINA II study, in which this formulation demonstrated efficacy and safety comparable to the intravenous formulation, with an administration time reduced to just 10 minutes compared to the 4 hours required for the traditional formulation. This change improves the quality of life of patients and caregivers, reduces the burden on clinical centers, and optimizes the efficiency of healthcare resources.
