In this second part of the interview, Idolidia Darías continues to reveal previously unpublished testimonies about events that occurred in Manicaragua, in the La Campana area, during the Cuban insurrection. She speaks of the execution of five men, including Sinesio Walsh, and how some of these stories were transmitted under extreme danger, with surveillance, threats, and the constant fear of censorship. Many of the testimonies collected from victims and their families remain shrouded in silence: people who lost loved ones but who still prefer not to be identified. The interviewee also addresses the persistent fear surrounding the so-called "Potential Counterrevolutionary (PCR)" zone, and how the memory of the Escambray cause remains a sensitive topic even decades later. Furthermore, she reflects on the silence of many witnesses to crimes, disappearances, and executions, as well as on her own exile and the historical recovery work she has undertaken to preserve these stories. A conversation that is part of an effort to document historical memory from multiple voices, many of them still in the shadows.
