Prior to serving as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations from 1977 to 1979, Andrew Young worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Rev. Ralph Abernathy. Young reflects on the circumstances that inspired the Southern Christian Leadership Conference’s “Birmingham Campaign” and Dr. King’s iconic “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.”
