In this episode of our journey through Mauritania, we first head to Chinguetti, one of the most important historical cities in the desert, known for its ancient libraries and rare manuscripts 📜📚. We explore its old neighborhoods and get closer to the stories of its people, who have preserved this heritage for centuries. Next, we leave Chinguetti towards the Mouhirith Oasis, where some local youth welcomed us as soon as we arrived. We shared a traditional Mauritanian tea session and beautiful conversations under the shade of the palm trees 🌴. Then we explored the oasis and climbed the hill to enjoy a panoramic view amidst the Adrar mountains. From there, we continued our journey to Terjit Oasis, the most famous oasis in the region. Despite the end of summer and several months without rain, water still flows through the valley between rocks and palms. Mauritanian families come to Terjit to spend a peaceful day in the cool atmosphere, and of course, we were soon invited to join them, as always, with their generous hospitality. This episode is filled with stunning landscapes, wonderful encounters, and moments that showcase the spirit of Mauritanian hospitality and the beauty of desert life.
