The region’s unique geography and importance make these elections closely watched across the country, with intense competition expected among major political forces. According to Election Commission data, 958,480 registered voters—including 503,772 men and 454,708 women—will cast their ballots across 2,450 polling stations staffed by 7,678 officials. The 33-member assembly includes 24 general seats and 9 reserved seats, with 396 candidates contesting the general seats. A simple majority of 17 seats is required to form a government, making every constituency crucial in the final outcome.
