Ambush, shooting of Milwaukee police officers: Suspect in custody

A suspect in the shooting of two Milwaukee police officers near 24th and Garfield on Thursday has been arrested, according to police. In a release Friday, June 27, police said the suspect was apprehended and arrested by officers just after 2 a.m. without incident. Police also said both officers are still being treated for their injuries and that criminal charges will be presented to the Milwaukee district attorney’s office in the coming days. The officers were shot in what is being called an ambush Thursday night, according to police.
