(155) Z3 Class Trams Along Route 57 to West Maribyrnong. 13th March 2023

Melbourne's Z3 class trams are now between 39 and 43 years old. A total of 115 Z3's were built, Nos. 116-230, and exactly 100 units are still in service at present. With new G class trams on order the Z3 class must surely be on borrowed time. Whilst Z3's can be found on other routes, Route 57 from the City to West Maribyrnong and the cross-town Route 82 from Moonee Ponds to Footscray are still almost entirely worked by Z3's. In this video we follow Z3 trams along Route 57. We begin at the corner of Victoria St & Errol St, North Melbourne, then along Queensberry St, Abbotsford St, Flemington Rd, Racecourse Rd, Epsom Rd and Union Rd. The video concludes with footage of trams arriving and departing from the terminus at West Maribyrnong.
