Calling Elvis - Dire Straits (Jeff Porcaro Drum Cover)
Everyone! I know that I can’t come close to nailing this song, but I did give it the old college try for you. I think songs like this one are classics, that no one can completely replicate. For me playing this song is about the challenge of trying. The haters will hate. There is always someone that can do it better then you. But if you love some music you have to try to play it. So today you watch me trying to play this one. This was my best take. It came after I stopped trying to play every part exact and started to listen to the music and just relaxed and grooved. I might try this one again someday??? I know it not quite there yet. But its worth sharing because there were a few moments! Now this video comes out my desire to work on music that I love. Jeff Porcaro’s playing on this album has been an inspiration to me. I had a good friend named Rich Sullivan. Rich and I would listen to this song over and over again in the car on long trips to the drum shop in north jersey. Rich this one is for you in eternal realms ... I know you would have enjoyed my effort! Enjoy everyone!
