Mercedes 280SL W113 Pagoda for sale The Mercedes W113 was an open two-seater European sports car produced between 1963 and 1971. Close to 49,000 cars were produced during this time, encompassing the 230SL, 250SL, and finally the Mercedes 280SL. The model is more commonly known as the “Pagoda” due to the shape of the car when the original hardtop is fitted. Exterior: The Mercedes 280SL Pagoda we have for sale here was painted in the original Mercedes color, dark grey (code 787), with the hardtop in contrasting black metallic. This vehicle has undergone a complete restoration with no expenses spared. The body was completely stripped and rebuilt using original Mercedes parts by a professional body shop. It is now razor sharp, with perfect gaps all around. To complete the exterior, a new black soft top has been fitted, and every chrome detail is either new or has been re-chromed. A new set of tires with a thin white stripe completes this classic Mercedes convertible. Interior: This 1970 W113 features black leather in excellent condition. However, the real magic begins when the sun goes down, revealing the beautiful light from all the VDO instruments. All instruments have been fully refurbished and reset by a specialist in Germany and have now been upgraded with LED bulbs for enhanced brightness. The black soft top is easy to fold up and down and has a perfect stretch. It is a common problem for soft tops not to stay flat towards the body at the rear near the fenders, but this one is perfect. Technical: The best part of the Mercedes W113 280SL is perhaps its technical condition and upgrades: Full rebuild of the engine and head Injection pump rebuilt by a specialist in Germany All parts in the front and rear end are new New tires all around, with wheel alignment performed Brake system completely revised Original ZF five-speed gearbox New gear ratio in the final drive: 110 km/h = 2700 rpm Complete new electrical wiring loom Factory new Bosch headlights New exhaust, including headers 123 Ignition History: The Mercedes 280SL Pagoda for sale here was sold new in America in 1970 and came to Sweden in May 2018. A full restoration of the Pagoda started immediately and was completed in 2023. Since then, the car has been driven about 600 km to ensure everything runs properly. It is by far the best Mercedes 280SL we have driven here at Classix, and if you are a classic car enthusiast, this is the Mercedes for you.
