Its population density is 40.7 inhabitants/km². It is situated on the right bank of the Zêzere River, which forms the border with the municipality of Fundão. The parish is composed of the following places: Adurão, Carregal, Dornelas do Zêzere, Machial, Pisão, Selada da Porta and Portas do Souto. In August, the festival in honor of Our Lady of the Snows is celebrated. This parish belonged to the municipality of Fajão, which was dissolved by the administrative reform of 1855, thus becoming part of the municipality of Pampilhosa da Serra.
