Today (Thursday) a graduation ceremony for the Border Guard Company Commanders Course was held at the Border Guard Memorial, during which 189 graduates of the course marched on the parade ground. The ceremony was held in the presence of the Border Guard Commander, Major General Brick Yitzhak, Deputy Commander of the Border Guard, Lieutenant General Amram Nidam, the Commander of the Military School, Lieutenant General Barak Mordechai, the Corps' senior command staff, the course commanders, the graduates, their families and other guests. The Border Guard Company Commanders Course is held at the Military School and lasts approximately four months. During the course, the trainees acquire extensive command and professional knowledge in the areas of command and control, navigation, combat, initiation, combat fitness, leadership and other content that will assist them in their role as commanders in the field. The graduates who were certified today will join the Border Guard's operational units in all sectors, and will lead the fight against terrorism and serious crime in the territories of the State of Israel. Border Guard Commander, Brigadier General Barik Yitzhak, said in his speech at the ceremony: "From now on, you are entering the first command of the force, a role that embodies responsibility, commitment and personal vision. You have embarked on diverse operational activities within Israeli society: you have encountered serious crime in Arab society, the ultra-Orthodox public in demonstrations, and secured significant events on a national level, such as the visit of the President of the United States and his Vice President. These experiences have exposed you to a complex and challenging reality, and have given you important tools for fulfilling your role. How to lead teams and navigate stressful situations, to act with both professional and ethical judgment, in a multifaceted social reality. This is not just technical training, it is a foundation that prepares you to face the challenges of the era, in which leadership also requires wisdom, flexibility and a deep understanding of Israeli society, from which we all come and which we all guard. The security reality in the State of Israel is subject to daily tests: external threats, Domestic challenges, social and ethical complexity. In this reality, I trust you, the new generation of commanders, to be the ones who will face the events on the ground and will be required to lead with courage, make decisions with determination and give the most professional response possible, in an encounter with a citizen, in operational activity or in a moment of decision under pressure." The commander of the military school, Lieutenant Colonel Barak Mordechai, said in his speech at the ceremony: "Here, on the graduation square, stand proudly 189 commanders who in a few hours will become squad commanders in the field. Behind you is the concrete wall, on which the names of five hundred and fifty Border Guard martyrs are painfully engraved, which reminds us that the moments of joy and satisfaction that we are experiencing right now are part of a wonderful human chain of commanders and fighters who wrote the history of the Border Guard. Dear graduates, from now on you are an inseparable part of the command structure of the force. The recent period has sharpened our understanding that we need courageous, professional, mission-oriented and prudent commanders, humane commanders, with a broad vision, and those who work around the clock to ensure the success of their units. I wish you to lead and guide your people, that you know "Distinguish between the essential and the trivial, and set a personal example in all your actions.
