A trail horse in the making - Skye the Irish Draught Horse goes on her first overnight trail ride

Skye is a 5-year-old Irish Draught mare who joined my little herd of horses here back in March. She's been working hard, getting trained to be ridden, and she is doing very well. A great way to get to know your horses, deepen a trusting bond and strong relationship with your horses is to go on a trail ride for a few days. Spending so much time together, you learn so much about them that you never would at home when they are mostly in the field, paddock or stable with their mates. Plus, trail riding is a very pleasant activity and a great way to explore the countryside. Not to forget, Trudi, our lovely little Airedale Terrier, came along, too, of course!!!
