7 v 7 Positioning: CENTER MID ( offense & defense)

Answers: 1. space 2. the center mid creates space by moving away from the space they want to attack and checking back into that space. 3. The center mid should have her head on a swivel and constantly look for space. 4. The center mid should stay out of the scrum because there is no space in the scrum and there is no easy way to receive the ball and play it out of the scrum. 5. There is often space on the opposite side of the field from where the ball is, so switching the point of attack is often very effective at breaking down the other team. 6. Often times you want to check back hard to the ball once your teammate takes their first touch, so they can play you a pass with their second touch. 7. When we are attacking the other team's goal the center mid should position herself behind the ball for a dump pass (back pass). 8. Defensively the center mid should pressure, tackle, and steal the ball any time it is the middle channel of the field. It should never be easy for the other team to dribble or pass through the middle channel.
