Robert Peters Funeral Video 2026 06 19

Retired Command Sergeant Major Robert Lee Peters (Pete) of Yukon, Oklahoma, has passed away. He joins his beloved wife, Bernice, who preceded him in death. Robert was born in Chicago, Illinois. He joined the Army, completed two tours in Vietnam, and proudly served his country for 31 years before retiring in Texas, in 1986. Robert and Bernice were married for 50 years and raised six children: Patricia, Billy, Donna, Maryann, Brenda, and Robert. Robert loved taking his family on vacations every summer. Christmas was his favorite holiday, and he always made sure the decorations were up, the tree was beautifully decorated, and that Santa visited on Christmas Eve. He truly enjoyed celebrations; from hosting military gatherings with family and friends to birthday parties, he was always the life of the party. Robert also had a secret fondness for the family pets. Several animals were very special to him, from the Siamese cat, Columbo, who sat at the bottom of his recliner, to many others over the years. After Bernice passed away, he ensured that Missy and Rusty had their best lives until they joined Bernice. Robert is survived by his children, 50 plus grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and his parrot, Jasper. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Bernice Peters and his daughter Patricia. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at the Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel, with interment to follow at the Yukon Cemetery, where he will receive full military honors.
