The Expanded Story about Jesus’ Flight into Egypt: Matthew 2

Matthew 2:12ff recounts in the briefest details that Jesus' family had to flee Herod and seek asylum in Egypt. During the centuries that followed, various aspects of this story got expanded and embellished. Not only in sermons and commentaries but in art as well. This video looks at the rather interesting history for how Matthew's account was picked up and developed as time moved along. It is a fascinating story with some very interesting and creative additions being appended to Matthew's account. Note: All the images used in this video are public domain or were taken by myself.
