In this testimony, Billy Branton of Mississippi shares his journey through addiction, incarceration, and ultimately recovery, reflecting on what it truly means to be “always in recovery.” Billy describes how childhood anxiety, early exposure to drugs, and years of escalating substance use led him into cycles of addiction, crime, jail, and near-death experiences, including IV drug use, crack cocaine addiction, and repeated incarcerations. After decades of chaos and despair, a breaking point in jail led Billy to surrender his life fully to God, committing to real inner change no matter the cost. Through faith, accountability, and perseverance, he found freedom from addiction, healing from hepatitis C, restoration in his life, and a new purpose.
